New system and NEED advice on subwoofer

Alright so I am selling my old system and need advice on what sub to get now. I had a 12" Kicker CVX hooked up to a Hifonics Brutus BRZ1200.1 (yes I know it is a POS and the amp upgrade will be coming shortly). I was looking at getting 2 12" Kicker L5s but after reading for a bit it seems Kicker doesn't have the best rep around here. I would like to get something around the same power and price ($300). Please keep it to a 12" sub/subs. This will be going into a 1999 Mazda B3000, pretty much a Ford Ranger for those that don't know. I am not looking to take up the entire back row but as long as about 1/3 of space is left I will be ok with it. I want a sub that can hit the lows hard, steady, and clean but also has pretty good sound quality. I have to be able to wire the sub to 1 ohm for my amp. Forgive the list of details but I figure the more you know the more help you will be. I will be open for box design advice after I decide on a sub. Thanks in advance!

If you have CVX's, going with L5's is not much of an upgrade. Check into the American Bass TNT line, AB is known to pick up lows good and it actually under your price range. They are 600rms 1200peak. 2 Dual 4ohm 12's get you down to 1 ohm that you need.
