new sub setup wiring question

Thinking of using a single sundown SD 10 ported with my hcca 225 digital reference amp. Do I need a dual 2 ohm sub to wire down to 1 ohm bridged mono or run mono? Think this correct just want to confirm. Been searching for hours through old threads with how people wired this amp but pretty much every post has two subs being used, not one.

A dual 4 ohm will be 2 ohms if wired in parallel.

a duel 2 ohme sub can be wired to either give you a 4ohme or 1ohme final load, a duel 4 ohme sub can be wired as 8ohme or 2ohme
