New sub on the way. Need box suggestions

I ordered a alpine type r 12" earlier tonight.

I want to go ported with the box. I noticed the specs call for 0.75-2.00 cu. ft.

I have a 3 cu ft box in my trunk right now so space isnt really an issue.

How many cu ft would you guys suggest? Also i planned on porting around 35hz.

I listen to mostly rap but some rock also.

Any input would be great.

somewhere bertween 2.0 - 2.5 is quite popular

only thing ive ever heard over 2.5 was tuned to 43HZ so it sounded like *** but was loud as fawk...but everything in that 2.0 -2.5 range sounded good

its loud as fawk alrite but it also stinks when u have 900 goin throu it but i gotta say its still runnin strong as hell

Ok im thinking 2.3 cu ft at 33hz. Would that be a good dd settup? I just want the best possible sound while still getting pretty loud.

Ok after reading about 50 pages of the type r thread It seems that anything over 2 cu ft might be to much.

What would the difference be between 2.3 cubes and 2.0 cubes?

I just want the best possible sound i can get.

Can anyone suggest someone to come up with box plans for me? I pm a couple of people but havent got a reply.

Im thinking more around 32 or 33hz.

wouldnt 40 get really loud but sound like a$$?
