new sub and amp q

I just picked up a audiobahn 1560t 15"sub and a boss audio amp. Im sure these might not be the greatest products but I picked them up for really cheap. I am pretty unexperienced about car audio so I have a few questions:

The specs:

Sub- Audiobahn 1506T 15"

1300watts RMS, 4 ohm dvc, 2 or 8 ohm operation

Amp- Boss audio CH900

300x2 RMS @4ohms or 1600w @4 ohms bridged

My question is, if I wire the sub for 8ohms, then is there a way to tell how many watts it will be getting?

If anybody has any input or suggestions on my setup please chime in.

Why in the hell would you want to wire it to 8 ohms?!

Ditch the amp....it's crap and will not do anywhere near the 1600w @4 ohms bridged and probably won't even do the 300w x 2 @ 4 ohms unbridged.

Teh audoblings......those are the Flame Q series right?

Put em in a big sealed box with a 800w amp....go ported if you want.

I'd just sell the subs and amp and start all over.

Since its rated at 300x2 @4ohms my guess would be 600rms @8ohms. In all reaity these arent the best equipment like you said. I bet it will do close to the 600 watt mark.

Yeah, I figured the amp was really cheap but I got it for next to nothing. I guess I will give it a try untill I can afford a better amp. Do you think that sub will handle 1000-1200 watts RMS daily? Secondly, what do you guys suggest for a good amp that is still reasonable.

Thanks for the input,

BJ

the rms, or minimum watts needed, is 1300, so yes, it could handle 1000-1200, but it would still be underpowering it

You could keep that amp, and wire it down to 1 ohm for some tweeters or speakers
