Thats odd. That is the same hu I have btw. Its interesting that you may have received 2 defective units in a row. How long did you leave it attached to the battery like that?

That's what I thought. I guess I'll return it to Amazon and see if I can get crutchfield or best buy to price match it, that way I get one from a different distribution. I had the leads on the battery for around 5-10 seconds.
