New speakers

im looking for new door speakers for my 99 blazer. i just bought some infinity reference shallow mount and the bass sucks. it distorts at high volume and i can be out side my vehicle with doors open and here the speakers distort and it sucks bad.

I was looking into a set of components maybe. i dont want to spend much maybe 100-150. i was looking at some edi 6000, Crutchfield said my mounting depth was 2.8" so i guess something below this, the ed 6000s have 2.8" depth so i guess they will work. i looked at some cdt cl-61s for like 150 on the zeb( any where cheaper)

what other ones for same price( dls or any thing else). ill be running for a little bit off headunit till i get a amp, it will prolly be a while. is that my problem is no external amp or what. i just want it to quit distorting because my sub will get other bass. i just need some good midbass.

getting some components wont necesarily give you more midbass

about your current coaxes distorting, if you send them a clip signal from the source, they will distort at any power level

is the distortion problem my headunit? its not a cheap one but is that the problem or are the infinitys just not bass speakers( i know they arnt, but would distortion go away with new components, or would i have to buy new amp too? if so i dont have that money. i was just looking for some quick options

if you turn up any HU enough, it will probably begin to distort and clip the signal

Perhaps you should take a look at your headunit's EQ settings.
