New Soundstream Reference Amps

I guess I missed the part in the review where it said they dont put out rated power. I read the part that said it dose. either way, these are the best amps Soundstream has put out in over 10 years hands down. Followed close buy the original Rubicons and the Van Gogh amps.

Dave, I am a bigger stream junkie than you but i dont think will will ever admit it. I won't knock the new amps till i can try them and a/b them to what i have and know..I have had all the reference line from the past...literally..and to say the new line is "exactly" the same design as the old is well, imho a lie....you can look at the 2 and see

For me, the old school soundstream up to the s and sx line reference was the best they were and again, imo, are...this is including the d class/mc class/reference class skip ahead to the rubicon and they fixed the auto auto current but lost a lot of respect in the process...van gogh were stout amps but i never ran them personally...a lot of my friends have

I have tinkered with a lot of amps over the years and when in doubt, the reference's go back in the ride...

Again, I would really like to a/b them and one day maybe I can..I don't have any connections anymore with the company so it would have to be at a retail level

Are these going to be used in SQ competition vehicles? That will be the true test if they are back to their roots or not... MECA SQL trophies! Until then, we are just armchair racing on the interwebz.

When people do not know you, or where you have been it is hard to write things on the interweb and it not go over peoples head. The second hand info is on the new refs from reading and talking with a lot of people. The old info is from close friends i hung out with whom owned and sold their SS amps when they sucked and from working at the stereo shop, installing Smoke Streams and then having to take them back out. I knew then I hated them.

If you can not read where he talks about the power rating might have been a mistake on SS part and looking at the chart where it says lower than what they rated the amp.....then i can't help you.

can i ask why you say this? I have a balanced system using unregulated amps and have had many top tier ears in my car giving me thumbs up
If you have to ask, then you should try for yourself //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i have.....and much prefer unregulated....but your not answering the question..i'm not trying to put you on the spot, only asking why you prefer it regulated....everyone has there likes and dislikes though

I will be the first to tell you the design has nothing to do with the old design. If Chuck really did say that he may have had 1 to many lol He loves is whiskey lol

Meh, you can't make me go to back that forum with their Nazi like owner and SS/Gestapo moderators! Also, I have their domain blocked at the router level due to the trojan infection that tried to come in through my browser last night. Lots of luck to any of you go there!
