I’ve been on a big subwoofer binge for awhile now both with running them and building them. Back in the day I had a few setups running 8’s and always loved them. Unfortunately the low end output of big subs is something I just can’t seem to get enough of and is what kept me away from going back to small subs. A few buddies of mine wanted some 8’s done so I figured why not join them! I’m still waiting for my power supply to be built so all I had for power to test was 500w rms. Using just a 2” coil, this little 8 took it like a champ beating the snot out of it free air no less. I’m gonna run 4 of them sealed in .55 cubic feet each after displacement. In my testing so far this has pretty darn good low end output for just an 8” sub! Ran it ported as well but that’s irrelevant as I’m doing sealed. At first they will be run on 1200w rms (300 each) and down the line I’ll step it up to 1500-2000w rms. I will probably fully start the build in a month or two tops (time limited right now). Here are some pics and a video. In the video it’s 500w rms @ 35hz, 18mm of xmax on that little guy lol.
