Okay everyone...I am in the planning stage of my next system for my truck. And I would like you all to look over this list and tell me what I am missing/opinions. Here is my list.....

HU: Kenwood 8120 or 9140?????

Subs: (2) Boston Acoustics G5s

Sub Box: Sealed

Sub Amp: US Amp MD1D

Front Speakers: CDT CL62-CF

Rear Speakers: CDT CL62-CF

Amps for comps: JL audio 600/4

Sound Deaden: ????????

I am not 100% for sure on the comps. But I will have that JL amp for what ever speakers I end up with. This set up will be going into a Nissan Titan CrewCab.

why kenwood???

why rear fill???

cdt lower line isnt that great sounding.

if your'e looking for SQ then i would look @ rainbow, morel, hertz, etc..

yes sound deadener is very important, as well as placement & aiming your mids & tweeters

Thanks!!!!This is what I was looking for. So what would be a better DD HU? As for rear fill I prefer it....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ACtually in my opinion the lower end CDT's sound as good as the higher end ones. May not be quite the same performance, but seriously, how will you tell that much of a difference by the ear?

The CDT's are a good choice. I think I'm going to go with CDT HD's in my next set-up, as I likw the way they sound in my friends van.

I like the choice in H/U too, lot of tuning options.

Thanks bro! I was looking at the CDT HDs myself. Because I like the braxial style tweeters you can get with them. See I currently have a set of Infinity Kappa's 6x9s and a pair of kappa comps.

Those Boston G5's will be sweet!
I have been hearing that from a few people. I can't wait until I receive my box for them. I also was thinking about a pair of Boston Pro's for my front comps but I have been reading different reviews on them.

Bump...Anybody else have any thoughts on which comps would be good with the JL amp? My budget for my front comps is 300-400.

you should either drop the rears and get nicer fronts or do cheaper rears and semi nicer fronts.. what you looking to spend on those together?
I can't drop my rears. I have played around with taking out my rears and at the end I prefer to have rears. My budget is for 300-400 up front and 200-300 for my rears. It all depends on what I get for the fronts.

Hertz HSK 165, or MLK 165 if you can affordLook at Image Dynamics too
Thanks for your post. I am really looking for something that gets really loud, crisp and clear. Basically something that can go with my G5s.

Price really isn't a problem. But I don't believe in spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars on some comps if I can get some in the price range I posted sounds the same or better.
