New problem

Today i got a new amp and i hooked it up to my 4 guage wiring and i go to test to see if my amp is on and the blue light on the alpine is on so i slowly turn it up and as soon as i got 50% volume the sub would just quit but the amp is still on. i can also turn off my deck and turn it back on and the sub will work but it will sitll cut out. Tell me Whats up i think my battery is toast

If the amp stayed on its not ur battery. Check all your connections..seems like there is a short somewhere..

is it going into protect mode?? maybe your ohms are too low for that amp.

my buddy had the same problem...he had to go into the controls and do something...except for im not sure what...check out your manual, cause i know thats where he got his answer from.

What is sounds like to me is something that my pioneer would do if i reset the battery, the preout became speaker level, not sure if your alpine does that or not, but i'd have to switch the setting back over to line level and it worked fine.

it never goes into protection mode it stays on the whole time but i think it might be because i have a 30 amp fuse by my battery and the amp is 40 amp but i just got new wiring so its not shorting

Is the fuse by the battery blown? FYI, you should have a larger fuse at the battery than the sum of the fuses on the amp...

well i got a new terminal and i am getting a new battery right now but i dont know whats up would it matter if the remote wire where it connects to the deck haz nothing covering it because thats the only thing that could be wrong right now or i need a new battery

Is the fuse by the battery blown? FYI, you should have a larger fuse at the battery than the sum of the fuses on the amp...

if the fuse is blown, then the sub wouldnt turn back on iirc.......

haha im having sorta the same problem. my sub kept cutting off when the bass would kick in. the head unit started cutting off. the lights are dimming. and the head unit and sub quites when i roll the windows up. my battery is brand new i just got it 2 months ago. and my amp stays on and works fine it just kicks off with the deck. the only thing i can figure is wrong with mine is the ground on the battery is messing up. it messed up a few months ago and everything done the same thing then. my amp is the only thing working fine on my car right now i guess b/c its grounded elsewhere.

Ok none of my fuses are blown my wiring is is perfect 4 guage My batt is a piece my car dies from time to time but my deck stays on most of the things you guys are say ing ar irrelavent
