New Pioneer Hu's...RCA power.

So, anyone other than me notice the new 2000, 3000, 4000, and 5000's seem to have much weaker RCA output than last years versions?

I put a 4000 and 5000 on our display board in the place of a 5900 and 4900.

They seemed to have weaker RCA output

no idea...I do know that i've had my HU(590ib) for almost a year, my speakers sound like shit---and I can't figure out how to set the clock on it.

manual says to use the multi-control (the knob) and find the clock setting

THERE IS NO ****ING CLOCK SETTING.

its pretty **** rediculous...

alright here it is...word for word.

SETTING THE CLOCK

1 Use MULTI-CONTROL to select CLOCK

2 Push MULTI-CONTROL left or right to select the segment of the clock display you wish to set

...blah blah blah

the funny thing is, the multi-control is the knob...it can be pressed up, down, left, right, center and around in circles. if you press it in you have 3 options...audio, entertainment, function. they all refer to what you are using atm (radio, CD, IPOD...etc)...there is no clock option in here. pressing the knob up or down, left or right doesn't do jack shit but change stations, songs, etc...

there is a button on mine that looks like a clock...if you press it, the clock pops up in the middle of the screen.............BUT YOU CANT DO ANYTHING TO IT //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

yup, just figured it out.

turn the **** thing off, press and hold multi-control in...then rotate until clock shows up.

btw, is there any way to turn off the blinking background? it gets annoying watching the screen turn from black to bright ****ing blue

mine goes to white....nighttime is a *****, the only thing I noticed is when the clock is off, it is way less frequent.

there is a brightness control...i turned it all the way down, hopefully this helps

Maybe on the 880, but i haven't found any way of turning it off on mine, and i did read the manual:crap:

edit: pioneer claims it is a screen saver on my unit
