not to much to be mistaken about... it's a 4" coil 4 layer copper... IIRC something like 20awg...
for that coil to be that long... and already knowing the XXX's cone weight from before... the surround and suspension... no way it's under 300g... and even then you'd have SX power handling... so you could use maybe half of the 50mm one way... only way to use it all is to double the Mms and raise BL to compensate...

only so much you can do here though... it's working against yourself as efficency only slightly rises as you raise BL but Qes drops like a bomb for each unit you add

To hope of usable DVC 2 ohm versions assume high BL... and very very high MMs so that this excursion is real

from the video it seems very real... ... however since the coils can take it... I would put money that the sub is between 80-85db/w efficent

Yes there's a chance...

but it's much more likely to be higher in price unless David is willing to loose money for a while...

assume that this cast frame cost RE between 20k-30k to mold

beyond that they've completely machined and built this speaker with completely one off parts... for instance they had to create custom surrounds/spiders etc

as far as the MX... the need for the custom neo slugs etc of course is very expensive

I think $650 is a good point as minimum price...

something like this if in a shop would sell for $1000 easily... so consider that as far as what a valid price is...

since RE doesn't technically sell direct... they're much like adire... and since this is a tumult killer... think of what that means and what RE COULD charge

the new xxx seems out of my range power wise..if the price is 650 each i can buy 2 with no problem..but what its going to take to push them is another story..mx is looking good by the minute...they take a re 12.1 easy...so 2 mx12's and one 25oood....sounds tasty

I think you might be louder with something like some SX's or MT's with that low power

unless you can offer these things 10-12 cubes each that power won't see excursion over that of the old XXX's ... at least that's what it looks like from this end without testing to confirm things

there is nothing nice about that surround

it absolutely kills the Sd of the speaker... and is very heavy compared to a taller foam surround
