there is nothing nice about that surround
it absolutely kills the Sd of the speaker... and is very heavy compared to a taller foam surround

my thoughts, exactly. i would have much preferred a tall surround. we'll just have to wait and see how they do preformance wise.

it's not about trust... I assumed they CAN reach full excursion....

BUT to do it means high MMs... period... means lack of efficency.... which means scottie is the ONLY person that will ever see it

large excursion means lots of power or a hugely light Mms which still doesn't get you to full excursion.... and power handling suffers hugely

IB assume something like the W7 to reach full excursion... or around 3kw-4kw without a box... and probably in any normal size sealed assume 4kw per sub
