A crawfish or two? I had one till about half my guppies turned up missing after I went away for business. They also had some little blue lobster lookin guys at the local aquarium.

I used to have a chinchilla... but it died.. and I moved onto Ferrets, they were awesome!

Stuff like sugar gliders and chinchillas are rather delicate and probably not a good idea for a younger boy. However, small rodents like rats, mice, gerbils are a good bit more hearty than the sugar gliders and they only live for a couple years. So if you get tired of it, you can just wait for it to die or even set it free outside.

There are some sugar glider breeders that set up at our local Flea-Market.. Them jokers are $200 a piece! But you can get a pair for $350.. And according to the breeders. "Excellent blood line!" ... I laughed when I saw that.

lol they are awesome. buddy had one and this ***** came in screamin at us (we ganked a bottle of liquor from her) and the thing jumped on her face. They ARE VERY MELLOW when you are with them a lot.
