well my wife managed to kill my sons new fish in 2weeks and now we have a empty aquarium and was wonder what you guys have, have had in a ~25gallon tank, OTHER then fish lol.

only pet i had was a turtle //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif think the kid deserves a little bit more to look at..

stuff your wife in the aquarium for a week as punishment. the kids will find it funny. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif or maybe a scorpion or tarantula. something deadly that will make your boys say "awesommeeeeeee"

lizards/iguana type animals
When I was in MA, I was friends with a guy who had an iguana. Had it for years...started out in a 30 gallon tank, by the time I moved he had built a little "room" for it in the corner of the room with walls and windows. Probably was seven feet long from nose to the end of the tail...he'd handle it with a falcon glove.

I'd recommend geckos or other lizards that don't get quite that big //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

yeah, low maintance. Sorry i didn't specify it, even though it's pretty obvious //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

i like the scorpion idea. Don't know about legallities, but that's what pet shops are for.

bearded lizards

i've always wanted a chameleon but i've heared they're real high-maintinence and sensitive to temp. changes

dang, it doesnt get anymore low maintenence than fish, i have a 100 gallon full of oscars and such and i think the aquarium could tip over while i was on vacation and they would flop around on the floor for 3 days then when i got back they would just be a little dryed out and pissed off, but not dead, those guys are tough as hell.

If you dont want fish i would go for a snake. you only have to feed em like once a week, do you think your wife could handle that?

im going with the snake idea also, get him something he can hold and play with every once in again and wont be dangerious... kids always hate only being able to look at something in a tank and not be able to touch it
