Hello all! Great to be here. Starting a new system and decided to check into some of the forums floating around and here I am. I'm old school when it comes to amplification but would rather go new school for signal reproduction and sending. Purist at heart but like to walk quietly with a "big bang" lurking beneath. Only thing I have worth mentioning right now is my Hifonics Boltar Series VIII. I'm going to be running old school power but will be looking into a head-unit without a disc drive - something with a cross-over and usb compatibility.

Anyways , hope to talk to few of you about installs , recommendations , and just my general lack of knowledge as I haven't put a system together for probably 12-15 years. when I was into the scene , it was all about Hifonics Series VII-VII , Orion HCCA , PPI , and Rockford Power series amps. Ahhh! Expected to hear a few people pushing new gear. I'm not against it especially since the newer hardware is way more efficient. Been doing installs since the mid 80's. A lot has definitely changed! Thanks for the greets guys! A Boltar on mids - wow!

the old school car audio is where the top quality is at...but there are some quality newer products on the market as well...just the names that were the best back in the day are total crap today .....Hifonics...Kicker...Soundstream....PPI ....Orion ...MB Quart.....Lanzar....Phoenix Gold.....just to name a few....
