Hi everyone,
I found this site by doing a search for Kenwood KFC-XR601's, I have pm'd the Seller here and hope he still has them for sale. I like the sound of Kenwood hypernyl dome speakers and need only the '601's as well as some KFC-XR501's and then I will be finished looking, I think. I have a car with a full Eclipse system including one of their eq's but I think the sound is nowhere near as clean as the Kenwood systems I have owned. I am currently about to install a Kenwood speaker/head unit combined with a JL 500/5 and Microsub in a small car I have and expect it to sound very good. In the 80's I always used Concord head units and if you have never heard of those well there was not a better cassette player out there in my humble opinion and the sound was almost as clean as a good cd player depending on who recorded the cassette, as well as they had a quality look in black and were nicely designed, really a shame they are no more. Anyway when they went away I took a hiatus from car stereos for awhile and when I got interested again I was trying to find out what was a brand I could follow when I read that Gordon Murray the famous F1 designer had contracted Kenwood to build a system for the McLaren F1 road car. After he talked to many companies you probably know they were the only company willing to come up with a system that was light enough and efficient enough to meet his standards. So if they are good enough for Gord they are certainly good enough for me! I am also interested in Focal but I guess I will have to get another car to try them! Nice to be here.
