New laptop help...

ok heres the story my dad's laptop died on him and he said instead of buying himself a new one, hes going to buy me a new one and take my old one(toshiba satellite widescreen). So what should i get? Im graduating hs in about 4 and a half months and going to SFSU so im looking for something durable, internal wireless card, large hd. I dont know much about computers so any help is great. oh and im looking for something under 1500 if possible.thanks

im not gonna recomend anything specific, but whatever you get i recommend that you get something with a good battery life its good to have.

i have a compaq nc6000 and it has battery life like a nuns vibrator. i can seriosly get like 10 hrs straight if im not doing anything crazy

Im on a dell xps m140... great power great batt life a+ was a lil expensive, but dell stands behind their product.... in my classes al you see is dell so..... as long as u stay away from hp u should be good
