New install...sub noise and cant figure it out

hi guys new to the forum but not really to car audio i have some expirence...anyway i just recently installed and aq hdc3 15 in my s-10.. 4.4 cubes tuned to 37 hertz..zero gauge ran back to dist. blocks 4 gauge to stinger spv 44 battery...and my temporary amp in an audiopipe 1500.1 til i have money for my aq amp... lp set to about 55 hertz and gain 1/4 way up ...sounds nice but i get a random clicking or slapping in my sub ...if i pause my cd player or ipod it stops plays fine for awhile and then happens again...my head unit in an alpine iva d310 with 2 volt pre outs... im wondering if my pre outs are low is why im getting this noise...or maybe some kind of bad signal...grounds etc everything is great...im lost as to what this noise is...and its not the wire hitting sub either i checked that in my box...any ideas i would really appreciate it...thanks in advance zack

does your power wire come close to any of the RCA's?

U have ur lpf set to 55hz??? Kinda low dont u think? Also, have u checked for lead slap? U sure that there is no air leaks in the box? Both will cause the noise u have described.

Well the thing is I just pulled out a type r and alpine mrp m500 and no problem so I guess I'll start by looking for holes in the box

Check for air leaks and check to make sure ur leads are not slapping. Also why is ur lpf set to 55hz???

No power wire close to RCA either...and aren't aq subs supposed to no create tinsel slap?

check ur ground is good and you didnt pinch a rca. ur alpine amp didnt need as good of a ground so wouldnt be a issue. also check rear batt ground...
