New here and looking for any tips or advice!

If you're still considering those 6x9's... I'd love to have you demo my Blazer... We could also talk about possible fixes for your sub situation... for now I'd cover that hole with a 3"x 3" square of MDF or something screwed tightly to the box... as far as using the hi-inputs on your amp... well, that would be something NOBODY here would recommend... but it is your equipment after all... are you familiar with F/B groups... there is an AZ SPL group that has bassmeets twice a week and one of those meets is on the PHX/Westside... I'll be there this Sunday and many other enthusiasts as well... these guys love to talk Car Audio and demo systems... If you're in Surprise then one is pretty close to you... You came to this forum looking for advice... I'm telling you that it might behoove you to demo a couple of setups first before you try to fix things as you know how... I'm still learning after +25 years and many of my old school misconceptions have led to wasted effort and money over the years... this might help you avoid some of the same mistakes... Do you have H x W x D measurements for that box?... if so I could recommend a quick interim solution and I believe it could work well...

One heck of a lot better than using your hi-inputs... that's for sure...

This is the port. Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet

yeah thats not a port thats just a hole lol (and peeps here get on me for my port) also low bass is omni directional, if sub in trunk u get more of cabin gain (trunk act like 2nd box) and longer sound wave louder it is when it hits front of car.. if u can go up alittle more $ get the kenwood x301 ($119-$129) kr15 talked me into it and i'm glad he did..

Even though its a Sony? Also is there any difference between a deck that has 2.5v pre outs and one that has 4v pre outs?

That's what your amp gains are for... matching the signal... not a volume knob...

I didn't know that. Also yes the sub goes in the trunk I've just been messing around with it a lot recently so I tossed it in the back seat when I was rushing to work.

Another question for the front speakers can I run the amp feed wires to the stock wiring at the head unit so I dont have to mess with fishing wire through the stupid door rubber thing or will 50 watts rms be to much for the stock I believe 18awg wire?

Ya I was actually looking at the Kdc-bt330u looks really similar to what you recommended.

make sure it has 24 bit da convertor thats most important really for cleaner signal, like they said lower preamp voltage u can turn up amp gain but the better dac makes it all better

Nope. That's what the RCA's are for. Then run some speaker wire, after attaching it to the existing speaker wire and wire that to the amp.
