New help with speaker choice

First off, I would like to say that I really have zero knowledge with regards to car audio. I just got a minto 1990 Mercedes 300SE. It has the Becker stereo with cassette which is being replaced by an Alpine cda-9833. Until I have a better plan, find a quality installer, and have plan, I want to use my stock speakers. I have no idea what comes stock, what size or how many. I want to power then via the head unit for now.

As far as upgrading, what is a good game plan? I don't really know the difference between components and coaxial or what I should be looking for. at some point I will probably add a sub in the back. I am looking for good, quality concert sound. Not bass heavy, pounding. I want the car to remain stock in the looks dept. Can anyone give me any ideas?

Talk to Crutchfield (http://www.crutchfield.com) about what would fit in a '90 300SE...I did an install in my buddy's '91 190E (where my old Alpine 7893 head unit is currently residing), and his '75 240 diesel before that (man, that was a fun car to work on, heh) so I know a thing or two about Mercs...

IIRC, the front speakers are 4" and the rears are 5.25". Good brands to look at would be Boston Acoustics, Alpine, JL, Aura, DLS, CDT, etc...
