New headunit has power but no sound, please help !

Hi, ive just wired and installed a new head unit in my 2002 Pontiac sunfire and it has power but for some strange reason it has no sound. PLEASE HELP !

any amps or anything? did you use the wiring harness adapter kit?

Does your car have the Monsoon package? If so, you likely need to tap the remote wire on your new deck to the remote wire for the monsoon amp. Sounds to me like this is the case because obviously if the amp does not turn on, no sound can happen. Don't know which wire it is for your unit, I'm sure you can find out somewhere online. Getting the expensive harness would have made your life easier, but it's still doable with what you have.

no new amps, just wired the new wiring harness with the chime adapter. Tried both CD and Radio neither have sound. when i put the stock HU in it works fine

Sounds like you have an OEM amp

Monsoon. Did your stock HU say "Monsoon" on it? Check the trunk. The amp would be on the driver's side behind the carpet. Essentially in the rear quarter panel.

Just wire up your blue wires.
