New guy to the forums

Those NVX subs look great and I have been reading about them a few days ago and just hesitant on them because I have never heard of them before. Not that that means anything at all! Plus I think 2 12s for my truck and what I am looking for would be overkill possibly. I know dumb thing to say about bass and mobile audio. But attempting to fit 2 12s behind my back seat would be a task, at least for me. Plus I’d have to build a box and that’s way out of my realm.
i said 1 12 instead of 1 10 and that nvx looks like it's mostly made for sealed box the nvx vcw is a well know sub, this one is just lower rms, smaller basket.... if u can fit deeper than wedge box u can also look at dayton subs on parts express.com they take small box, they are highly recommended on here for sealed..

Sorry I misread what you said about the single 12. I will have to get some specs on how much room I exactly have under and behind my seat. id also have to find someone make a nice enclosed box for me to fit behind my seat.

The NVX is pretty close to bottom of the gutter Chinese cookie cutter fare. Your first instinct was probably right there. Unless doing this for absolute bottom dollar is your top priority, don't take his advice on what equipment to buy. You will get low quality, dubious reliability, and zero resale value.

In general you'd probably be well served by putting less cone area in a proper sized box than trying to cram too much in a too-small box. Figure out PRECISELY how much space and depth you have to work with and plan around that. The reputable mainstream lines all make shallow mount woofers, out of which I'd say JL has a couple fantastic offerings if you don't mind the price tag. JBL, Pioneer, Rockford, Alpine, and a few others also have shallow mount stuff that should be all pretty comparable quality and price points. There's also the Illusion Audio shallow mount lineup that's even more money if you have deep pockets.
