New Front Door Speakers (and Amp)

Ok so currently in my car i have some aftermarket front and rears. im pretty sure they are garbage though because the guy cheaped out on the sub and amp (MTX sub with a sony explod 1200w amp :p) which means he probably did the same for the speakers. Either way, i want some new ones. I can pick up a set of the alpine spr-17s components for about $150 which seems like a pretty good deal (330w max, 110rms power range). I was also looking at some rainbow speakers such as the csx 265, slc 265, slx 265 deluxe because rainbow is supposed to be a good company? how do they compare to the alpines considering they are an extra 75-100 bucks? Any other suggestions for fronts? Price range 250 and down, but less the better :p

im obviously looking for an amp to power the speakers too, but ive been looking for a 4ch amp with around 100w @4ohms and its tough. Price range ideally from 300 down but i will look at others if they are a little bit more. i know you dont want to cheap out on amp.

as for the rears, i dont care as much right now. in B.C., you get your "N" before your full license which basically restricts you to 1 passenger. So no one is sitting in the rear right now. Eventually though, i will get some new rears too.

if you are a bass head, go the alpine route

if you are more into SQ go the rainbow rout //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Rainbow is better quality and will sound 10x better even if you are a bass head. I say go Rainbow. Although you could do a DIY kit with your own mids and tweeters from Parts Express as well.

Image dynamics CTX65cs for $190, or HAT Imagines for $220. from my research those are the most talked about in that price range. above and below that price range i dont know

well for speakers i want more sq so ill look into the rainbows and ill check out the image dynamics and HAT imagines.

if im going to set up an amp to power the front and rears, do i need a 4ch amp?

I'd focus on a good front stage and not worry about the rears. but thats just me. That would save you a bit on an amp to power them as you'd only need a 2 channel.
yeah actually thats a good idea. this way i save money and when i uprage the rears, ill just run them off the head unit.

i started to suggest some yesterday, but figured it was an easy thing, just need to decide budget. ur looking at close to $200

arc 100x2 $180

WoofersEtc.com - FD 2200 - ARC Audio 2 Channel 370 Watt Amplifier

this would be a good choice, little extra power is good for mid bass

mb quart 150x2 $200

WoofersEtc.com - DSC2150- MB Quart 2 Ch 600 Watt Amplifier

i havent used mb quart, they look good, most people give good reviews, but i have seen a few saying they arent the cleanest power. i know the arc will be clean, but if u dont clip the mb quart, for $20 more it should provide a little more umff in mid bass
