HEy guys,

basically done most of my research on crutchfield.com.. so im looking for other imput i have talked to sales people there and they recommended this

( 2005 Toyota Highlander NO JBL SOUND SYSTEM )

2x the Polk Audio DXi 650s

and 1x enwood Excelon KDC-X395

for front and back //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

and they have said the b24 and m2250 would be a great sub/amp combo. but i want maybe more of a bump , anything past that is like $1000+ for the sub and amp combo, im looking to spend $700 on a sub and amp together.. any suggestions / tips?

Thanks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

what is your budget for the front stage? do you plan to amp them? any idea on the size and number of subs you want? how much space are you willing to allocate for the sub box? also what type of music do you listen to?

i'm sure the guys can steer you in the right direction once they have some answers.

$700 is about what I've spent on my entire system, so that is a massive budget for sub an amp in a daily driver. Unless.... that is, you are looking to buy from Crutchfield, then you will spend exponentially more there. It's an ok place to do research, but not ideal at all to buy from.

Polk and Kenwoods are both pretty mediocre. Perhaps if you provided us with an overall budget we could help more. Also, your system goals, listening styles, what music you listen to, and how much space you're willing to part with in the rear cargo area.

My parents have an '03 Highlander, pretty good mid-size all around, quick as well, great handling, and not too shabby in the dirt.

Sorry for not being specific enough!

Head unit - $130ish

Door speakers - $100ea or so

Sub + amp = $ 700

I was looking for a box for 2 12"'s originally, i could deal with a box about that size. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Post links to sites that are great sellers that i could order from also, i would love that as crutchfield is very expensive :S

door speakers - spend more $ on the front set and get components, use coaxials for the rear if you even need them. i'd add an amp for them or your front stage will not keep up with the subs.

some components in your price range to check out, make sure they'll fit the highlander:

Image dynamics ctx -6.5 $159 woofersetc.com or sonicelectronix.com

Morel Maximo 6 1/2 $129 amazon.com

Polk Audio db6501 $109 sonicelectronix.com

front amp $80-$139

mb quart

autotek

subs $109-$279

sundown

sound solutions audio

skar

incriminator audio

sub amp $169-$219

mb quart

hifonics

you also need a wiring kit, dampening material for the doors, and build or have built a sub box.

online places that are reputable:

sonicelectronix.com

woofersetc.com

soundsolutionsaudio.com/store

amazon.com

you have a couple options:

1. a 4 channel to run front and rears

2. a 4 channel bridged to run front - allows you to buy lower rms (ie less expensive amp generally)

3. a 2 channel to run front and you can run the rears off the headunit

100 rms per channel is a good fit for those components. i believe they are all rated at around 100 rms.

if you use rear coaxials they typically are rated lower rms so if you put them on the amp, adjust the amp rear gain conservatively:)
