This is a copy and paste of my post in the regal website so if you notice some buick or noobish mentionings you could just ignore those lol
Unfortunetly I wasnt able to do the full writeup with pics but i'll be redoing the the front speakers soon so I'll at least have that one. If anybody has ANY questions about anything related to the "concert II) system let me know because i honestly think i could answer 99% of em lol Anyways theres about 60cu ft of dynamat in the trunk and when I get some more cash and time I'll actually be dynamatting the whole interior not only for sound quality but ive completely dynamatted a couple cars and the road/wind noise can be all but eliminated.
YES i know it will slow the car down blah blah blah but I'm just as into a cars stereo as I am their performance. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Heres the breakdown:
-Alpine CDA-7873 (soon to be replaced with iva-d100 touchscreen)
-Phoenix Gold RSD 65cs comps (dirt cheap but research leads me to believe they can hold their own against higher end/priced comps)
-Infinity Ref Series 3 way 6x9s (good enough for now)
-AQ HD312 dual 2 ohm sub in a 2.5 box tuned to 40hz
-Xtant 1001x mono amp (1600rms at 1 ohm)
-JBL GTO 75.4 amp (100x4rms but will most likely run it 200x2 for the comps and run the 6x9w off the deck.
-Kicker 0 gauge and 4 gauge amp kits
-JL "premium" RCAs
-60sqft of Dynamat Extreme in the trunk (still need 20ft for the trunk floor)
Previous sub was a memphis mojo 12 but i want more sql (sound quality level) over all out spl (sound pressure level) so i tried out the aq and couldnt be happier.
in middle of wiring and mocking everything up
temp setup until i have time to finish dynamatting the trunk floor and building a better amp rack
(btw sprayed the whole trunk with sound deadening undercoating b4 the whole build)
some mat //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Thats all for now and in the next coming weeks ill be doing the front speakers and alot more dynamat. The tag has 4 layers on it, where it screws to the trunk has 2 layers on it and about 12 screws and it still flexes like crazy. I removed the center tailight and did 2 layers on top and another layer on every possible inch of the trunk and the side of the trunk. It might seem like a little overboard but when i get a better camera IIll post some flex videos so you can see what im talking about. I work at the install bay at tweeter and one of my walls is shared with pier one and while showing off the system to a coworker somebody from piers ran over and said i knocked over a couple plates and shook everything else lol Certain songs are unbearably loud but i usually listen with the sub on 2 out of 15. I rambled on but let me know what you think.
How can i stop my license plate rattle?? Its effin annoying!!!
