Honestly, you're 18 and don't really need any speed. I would get a nice car thats moderately fast that you won't feel the need to mod. That takes the Nissan out. You also don't want anything that is too expensive to maintain. That takes the BMW out. Do you necessarily need a luxury car at 18? Or is this so that you'll be accepted by your friends and have to drive them everywhere? The IS sounds like a good deal as it doesn't require as much maintenance. However, I'm hoping you'll be doing all of your own work on this thing, otherwise it will get very expensive. Don't look at the initial price of the car, rather how much it will cost you to keep.

And getting a bike is very impractical.

Maybe look for a lease return Altima or Maxima with the 3.5L that's a couple/few years old. Heck, even the 2.5L moves out pretty well imo. They're all over the place, so finding one at a decent price shouldn't be an issue.

It's supposed to be split inbetween two people. But the guy who I originally started with started to slack off and profusely use drugs. So, I told him to stop going (in essence fired him). So, the $17.50 / hr got boosted to $35.00.

And I don't want an Altima/Maxima, I think they're mad ugly and not comfortable at all.

And this isn't a car that my friends will accept-- I hate driving people around. It's for my own personal comfort. As far as work: I'll be doing most of it (I.E. Oil Changes, Tune-Up, all of that. If it gets intense, I'll take it in. But I do all my mait. work and some repair work depending on the severity.)

Insurance is also a big thing. That's why I'm leaning toward a 240sx. It goes vroom and the insurance'll be decently low.

But, the Bike is out of the picture. I talked to my Mom..-- and yeah. Not getting a Bike.

So, it's basically inbetween the 240sx and IS300 at this point.

2005 Maxima. My dad has one and i love it. if thats too much get the IS 300 for sure. i've always liked those

Trade your car in for a nice used one and get a nice used bike. But keep both within your budget, it can be done. I did it before and was happy with my decision. With 15k you can buy a nice bike for 4-5k or less. Have 10-11 or more to buy a used car plus your trade in. Then you have the both of best worlds. Check autotrader.com, even if you have to drive a few hundred miles to save a few grand, it's worth it. With aftermarket warrantys these days you can take it to a lot of places in your area to get it fixed without a problem. Make sure to check your insurance on both before you buy them, some vehicles and bikes can get costly.

I did the math.

15K would take me 34 months to save up at this current rate, granted prices will go down in 34 months-- but I was looking to get a new car sometime soon... agian, which is why the 240sx is so sightly.

It's around 6-7K for a good conditioned one, plus trading in my car for it, so I'd only need 1-2K at most.

Maybe for him it is due to his age and insurance rapping him, but for someone like me, might be very practical with gas prices. I would love to get a nice cheaper bike, rather it be a crotchrocket or a crusier, just to drive to work on nice days. Days it is raining out , take the car. Yeah, extra money on the insurance, plus more gas, but in the end I think I would be actually saving some. Plus I miss riding.

I say get the Lexus out of that bunch. But honestly you are young, so just about any insurance is going to **** you, unless your parents cover you. I would look for a nice slightly used Honda Civic or Accord. Reliable, holds value. Down the road when you are older, look into something else. Just a thoughy.
