New car... or bike...?

I need some help choosing, 'cause I'm just really confused.

I'm nearly 18 now, I have a pretty well paying job making about $200/week [Which is good for a high school student and only working 6 hours / week], and I have a '98 Mustang Coupe [V6... yep, flame on]

I've saved up $400 dollars so far, which, again, isn't much... but it's a d*mn start!

Anyway... these are the cars I've been throwing around in my head:

BMW 325/28/30iC [Coupe... I think it's iC] - The problem with this is that I'd have to put a down payment then pay for it. They quoted the car to be like 22-27K when I called the dealership... I'll only buy a BMW from the dealership.

Lexus IS300 - The older models. I'd trade in my POS Mustang for it and throw down some money. They're about 10-15K here.

Nissan 240sx [s14 model] - They're about $4-6K, then another $2K for an SR20DET plus another 1K for other stuff... so about ~9-10K

Or some sort of a bike... my friend's buying a crotch rocket for about ~5K or so. The problem with that is that my Mom would definitely not like it, nor would my family [An uncle died from a motorcycle accident], and those things are dead *** dangerous.

As of now I'm saving up about $100 / week for a car.

My current car isn't in the best condition-- it runs flawlessly. But I need to get my bumper repainted and my hood re-fiberglassed/painted. [Not having ABS + rain + a**hole pulling infront of me]

I'll take some suggestions on cars, too, incase I'm looking over something.

My price range is like ~5-15K

I like being comfortable, but also the ability to go fast if necessary [or fun]

Are IS300's quick?

I kinda want an RX-7... but I hear every 30K miles you have to re-do their engines... I forget what it's called... I think some sort of valve.

But it's supposed to be cheap.

lmao... NO!

I wanna get rid of my Mustang-- not trade it in for a newer one. I'd rather save my money and spend i t on repairs.

I don't really like Ford much anymore... -.-

On 200/week I'd aim more for the 5000 end of the deal as opposed to the 15k. Any car you finance is going to require full coverage, and you may have to help pay that if your parents so choose (unless you're already paying your own insurance, then it's all you anyways). Really, for 5k cash, you can find some pretty nice used cars, especially if you sell the mustang and add a bit more to that pot. I'd keep saving, sell the mustang when you've gotten up to about 4k or so, then hit up craigslist and find something you'd like from a private seller. Get it checked out by a mechanic before you buy it, and take into consideration any possible increases in gas, insurance, or maintainence and plan accordingly. You'll save yourself a ton of stress if you go that route imo.

I would work on your defensive driving before getting a bike, cause if this happens you may not be walking anymore

x2. I live in Miami: where people do some stupid sh*t for no aparent reason. I almost get into an accident everyday... and they're honestly never my fault. People turn with out looking, run red lights, and just all around blow at driving... which is why I'm hesitant to get a Bike. I don't wanna die anytime soon.
