alright, right now, my system is hooked up in my jeep i have a 1600 watt dhd amp with 2 10"" kicker comp vrs. and never had any problems powering anything. now, i just bought a honda fit today and i got the system from the jeep.i think powering even my amp for the subs off the battery alone isnt going to work well. ive never had any problems with powering so i dont know much about capacitors. they just go inbetween the battery and the amp right? so nothing special is needed as far as wiring goes i think. and how many farad would i need if any. im gonna put the system in tomorrow most likely, but id prefer not to spend any extra money right now cuz im broke. but if its somethin i gotta do, i love my bass. lemme know what u guys think. the fit battery is tiny....

DHD is ridiculously over rated. So if the DHD amp says 1600, its really pushing somewhere around 300 to 400w rms. You shouldn't have any problems installing in the Honda Fit. Don't waste your time with a cap, if anything do the big 3 and you should be A OK. Besides, caps get a lot of hate here on the message boards. My buddy installed a cap which did solve his light dimming problems but it also cut off some of the raw bass. The big 3 would have been cheaper, solved the dimming problem, and make it LOUDER.
