New buyer, need advice

I have an 04 cavalier and as of right now, friday I am getting two memphis 12" subs and a 1000watt crunch amp.

I'm working on a budget and this is setting me back about 550$ with tax and installation and everything included.

So my question is do you think I'm getting a good deal, and if anyone would suggest any other options for someone just getting into car audio

I guess with installation and everything that isn't really all that bad of a deal, but many of the people on this forum do the instals themselves and save some cash there. Probably about $100-200 for the installation and such. Sounds like a solid combo, do you have a HU to go along with it or front speakers?

Edit: without looking too hard I found the amp for $130 at onlinecarstero.com and the low end Memphis 12's on woofersetc.com for $70 a piece thats $270 right there, plus maybe $30 for a cheap amp kit, theres $300, I'm assuming your getting a box for the subs as well so that leaves $250 for a box, taxes, and installation. Could get better for cheaper most likely but for having a shop do it I don't think its too high, but then again I have never dealt with a shop installing stuff.
