kinda bored with my sinble re mx12 so im thinkin of a build of either 10's or 8's. Iv never owned anything but 12's so i wanna see what its like to have a punchy system. What are you opinions four 8's (if theres room) or 3/4 10's (if theres room..)

ok, first off...a bigger quality sub has just as much "punch" as you say it as a smaller one. The difference between a 18 and a 8 maybe a little...with such a drastic size difference...

my mx12 which a pretty good sub imo wont punch as hard as my buddies 10" memphis's. And other systems ive heard. I love the lows that a 12 will offer but im wanting to try out smaller and see what the outcome is.

x2 My buddys RF P1 10s were punchyer than i thought they were gonna be.
Exactly, in my experiance 10's are gonna be "punchier" maybe not always but some of the time. So back to what my thread is about tens or eights what you think??

exactly, when are you gonna have a 8" sub be comparable (power wise and all) to a 12+"
youd be surprised. You guys need to understand something. As long as its the same model driver, just different sizes, the same motor is used. So therefore, the only difference is the cone and some internals. More cone area=more air moved=louder (usually) get a decent sub, regardless of size and it will be "punchy" in your terms

Ok thats cool and i appreciate the input, im just saying in my exp, a 12/15" wont punch like a smaller sub, assuming its becase there is less weight and parts it has to push. Also like a said my mx12 (which i beleive is a decent sub) will not hit as hard as most 10"s ive heard. The point of my thread is should i go 10's or 8's. I want true responses from people who have mustiple 10/8's.
