New box for my box

There is a HUGE difference between audiophiles and designing an enclosure with a crappy port. You can still have a well designed box with the same cosmetics. Stop trying to justify your stupidity
And for the record, he posted it up on a public forum where people voice their opinions whether good or bad. I have nothing against the guy that posted this. What I do not understand is how a "professional" shop would even suggest going with a design such as this.
Oh...btw - that VENTED box design was sent to us directly from Rockford Fosgate! Take it up with them!

LOL!

Im gonna go out on a limb and say it was these guys http://www.jlsmobilesound.com/ .
Another fine example of their port issues

Oh yeah - the top box is a MFG pre-fab box by BoxMax somebody brought in! LOL!

Funny how you fit a majority of the members that like to bash?! Stupidity already used directed towards us? LOL! Yes, you can design a box with the same cosmetics - do you even know how the interiors of the box is designed! Let the bashing begin - it's all PR/Marketing work for us! I'm just proving my point!
Wow, please stop posting, you are making yourself look like an idiot. The port is waaaaaay to small for that many cubic feet. Seeing as how the build pics are posted on your site, it is nothing more than a simple slot port.

Please tell me the general guideline for how many square inches of port per cubic feet?

so you dont even make your own designs???
Actually - we do! Just the client brought in his set-up and how he wanted it. Remember, not all customers come into us, buy everything from us. They know what they want and we do it to their liking. It's not our car to tell them differently - business is business. Customer first - we can make recommendations but can't change their mind.

Holy crap this thread is awesome. I wish i could hear the finished product.

Hwo DO these people know that 2 sealed one ported will sound bad? Have you ever heard a box like that? I'm sure you've been TOLD its a bad idea...but by whom?

And, just to clarify, i myself disagree with his design, all three woofers in one single chamber, ported box would be a much better idea. He has the room, might as well go ported. Also..i disagree with using 2 different types of amps. The subs will react differently, and you need a unified front for it to not sound sloppy. If one of those R's are getting 300 watts and the other two are getting 500... they will react differently and such render the port useless. I say daisychain the two alike amps, and wire the three subs to the lowest resistance the amps can handle.

Point proven - again showing what/how much you know. That's good - use it positively to help out members like Steve! I don't need to tell you something/guidelines anybody could find "google"ing online! I think forums should help out members rather than put them down. Just 2cents - really care less how majority of you members feel. Fact of the matter is - still in business and will continue to do and treat everybody fairly and in a professional manner.

Here's a perfect example of somebody trying to be postiive and help Steve out!

Kudos to you - hopefully more members like you out there post more and help out members like Steve!

are the sealed parts 1 cu ft?? cause thats all they need...i dont know anything about ported but maybe having both will make it sound great....2 diffrent kinds of bass why not??
Kudos to you! Open mind and thinking outside of the box - but I guess the final result and best way to find out is after the fact hearing it! We already told Steve WHATEVER he wants at the end we'll be glad to do!

Might as well go for the perfect score and use 3 different brand woofers .

I just can't believe a shop would even recommend a design like this .

I can see doing what customers want and making them happy and all but that is just wrong .
