I'm building a box for the HX2 I'm rebuilding. Prime ported enclosure is 1.75cf. Will you guys check my numbers to make sure I'm right please. Will be a slotted L port box.
.75 wood thickness
24"x15"x15" dimensions
Port width 1.5"
Port height 13.5"
Port length 24"
My figures say it should have a net of 1.78cf with 2.37 total, tuned at 33 hz. Trying to figure out material and recommendations are appreciated. Thanks as always.

You don't have to use birch. Home depot birch is just pine with a thin veneer of birch. Sanded pine works fine and isn't as heavy as mdf
That is just regular marine plywood?

It's just regular plywood. The stuff that isn't cabinet grade was 60$ last time I bought it. Birch was 90$. Actually, no wood from home depot is really cabinet grade anyway.
Right on, I think I will try play this time. In the past I always built from mdf because it was the "best" but I never thought that. It's cheap and readily available but not very durable. This is going in a Jeep Wrangler that crawls and off-roads a lot. It also gets wet lol, that's why my Fosgate 1000bd no longer works lol.

Can anyone tell me if my port area is ok? The calculator says I have 20.25in2 of port area and .60ft3 of port volume.

That’s correct. Could you make a 13.5 x 2 port work? You’re just under 12 sq inches of port area per sq. ft. of box space. 13.5 x 2 port would be close to 16. The rule of thumb is 12-16 sq inches per cubic foot. I’m thinking your port will probably work with that sub, but I always like to get it close to 16 if I have the space.

I can, but I would have to make the box 17" deep and the port 30" long to keep the 33hz tune.

If making the box bigger is an issue just go with your original plan. if you do get port noise it would be at upper limit volume levels.
I can make it bigger :)

My friend just paid $245 for one sheet of 1" 17 ply Russian Baltic Birch yesterday here in Vegas.
If it was going to stay in a clean environment I wouldn't mind doing that. But this is in a dirty jeep so I do not want to disrespect the wood lol.
