Yes, just anything that will give a good ground, with lots of metal //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I hope you don't mean that youre grounding your alternator to the battery by that digagram. Alt goes to + terminal.

yes, something metal, but try to make it something that goes through the frame, like underneath a seatbelt bolt(they go to the frame normally). make sure to remove all the paint from wherever you ground to also

yeah, i figured i messed up on the alt, but i wont be doing the big 3 for awhile, 0/1 wire is expensive... and yeah whats a good tool to remove paint from the place im grounding it?

p.s. thanks for being nice and not aholes like others //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Hi im gonna do a second battery soon also, quick question and I dont want to hijack your thread bro just wanna ask without making a whole new thread. Ok, same as I would Fuse my current battery, I can put the fuse on the second battery? Well this is what I mean

If it were me, I'd have 3 fuses.

1 within 18" from the battery under the hood.

1 within 18" from the battery in the back, on the same wire as the one going to the hood battery.

1 within 18" of the rear battery, between the battery and the amp.

A lot of people only put 1 fuse, however, not 2 on the main batteries.

From those diagrams it looks as if you're running your batteries in series...

The + on the hood battery should be connected to the + in the trunk, same with the negatives if you want to do it that way and not ground the trunk batt. to the chassis...

Am I wrong? I thought batteries should be in parallel?

hmm yeah I was wondering that myself, I found this on another thread.

Says that if your running 1/0 of Power than they recommend using the 1/0 from the Startup battery to the second battery. Dang I was hoping I could save dough and not have to ground the second battery to the Startup battery..
