New Battery @ Better Ground ?

I don't know if I am imagining things or what, but I had to repalce my old battery with a new and much improved one. Also, I got a better grond connection to my sub amp. For some strange reason its seems to be louder. How can this be? I turned it up to see if would start clipping and it did not. I didn't touch the gains. Any thoughts on what the deal is?? Thanks...

Yea. I would figure that but, it almost seems like i should lower the gains just a tad. That is what is more surprising along with the loudness.
