new at this..... need help....!

Im new at car audios. My friends gave me his old system which isnt bad. 1 Alpine type-S 12' sub w/ a xplod amp. I need to get a line out converter because i am planning to connect it to my stock mach 460 system and i also need to get a wiring kit. I was planning on getting a 4 gauge wiring kit so I can upgrade my system later on but there are so many kits out there. which one should i get because when i was lookin, these kits ranged from 20 bucks to 80 bucks so I didnt kno what the difference was. What the best line out converter and best 4 guage kit that i can buy for a reasonable price. thanks

Walmart, buy the biggest one its only like 25 bucks. Can't help ya on the line-out converter, try searchign the board.

When interfacing w/ a mach 460 system, it can be tricky. What i would reccomend you do for signal is this.

1. Get in your trunk.

2. Look where your factory sub enclosure is. (large black thing under the rear deck w/ two amps on it.

3. Look at the front side of it. There are four wires that go into the enclosure for the subs. There is where you should get your signal for your leads. That is a high level signal (several in that car are low-level from the factory, which makes things difficult for a line level converter (unless you are custom building RCAs for it)). That signal is already low passed as well.

this site shows how to install it on a mach 460 system. I just didnt know if there was a different between brands. Like stinger or audiobahn or just generic brands. same thing for a line out converter. dont kno if it makes a different in quality....

Can you explain more on how I should go about connecting these to my Mach 460 cuz I am new at installing systems. Why would i need to custom build Rca's or have it run over a long stretch??? Can you help???
