New amp or New amp and subs??

I currently have 2 JBL GTO1004D 10's, rated at 500 watts rms for the pair and they are about a month old. I have 2 options, let me know which would be best on a budget.

Option 1: Buy a Kicker amp to push the 10's I have, total $190.

Option 2: Try to sell my subs for around $100-$125, but a Kicker 300 watt amp for about 90 (http://cgi.ebay.com/KICKER-ZX300-1-CAR-AUDIO-300-WATT-CLASS-D-AMP-AMPLIFIER_W0QQitemZ130199247559QQihZ003QQcategoryZ64570QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

a box for about $60, and a sub for around $100 (probably a Kicker CVR 10 or maybe a 12). Total for this (assuming I get 100 bucks for my JBL's) would be around 150.

I will say that when pushed by my Fosgate 360a2 amp, the 2 JBL's did not suit me, there was way to much bass, which is why I am considering switching to a single 10, plus I would like space. So, which setup would be better (I am open on the new sub, just considering the CVR)? Thanks.

What?

Just turn down your gain if there is too much bass.

Unless you are trying to save room.

Your other option is just run one JBL and build a new box for it so it sounds like what you want.

Just down grade to one sub, get a new box and sell the other sub to cover the price of the box. If two is too much bass I dont see what you would gain witha CVR, hopefully the CVR could get louder, but that is not what you want?

I say mess with your crossover points an gain settings and see if you can get it to sound good like that.

OK, thought I said this, guess not. My amp has quit, so I am gonna have to get a new amp no matter what. I never had a chance to set the gains, so I do not know if the JBL's will be too much or not. I am leaning towards the new subs and smaller amp, but would like others opinions. Thanks.
