new amp for sub

I am rather new to this forum and have read about how people dislike the sony amps and subs. I currently have a 15'' MTX 7500 DVC sub and using a Sony amp on it. The amp is a sony xplod. I went to Ultimate electronics to look at stuff and they told me the amp I have puts enough power to it but I was wondering what type of brand of amp would you recomend to put with this sub. I believe the Recomended RMS is 400. Or would I be better off just leaving the sony amp?
