New amp always in protect mode! HELP!!!!!

Hello everyone....I am extremely frustrated so I'm hoping someone can help me with my issue...did a recent install on a pontoon boat...from the battery I have both negative and positive 4 gauge wire running to two distribution blocks near my amps. From there I am running a JVC 500 watt mono sub amp and a Rockford fosgate p500x4d which is a 4x75 watt amp for the 6.5 inch speakers. The head unit is a Sony marine m60. After this install, the sub works wonderful, but the Rockford fosgate speaker amp has never left protect mode. I have checked all connections at least 3 times, to no avail. Even when the speaker wire and RCA cables are unplugged from the amp, it is still in protect mode. Any thoughts on what the problem could be? Thanks in advance for any help you provide!

Check how you have sub wired up. If the sub ohm is to low the amp will go onto protect

All even ohm's will raise or drop by half

If you have two 4ohm subs or voice coils and you wire ++and-- this will drop ohms to 2ohms

If you run positive from amp to + on sub and - to other sub you take a jumper wire and tie the - and + to gather and you are at 8ohms

Check to see what ohm your amp can handle and don't go below that with subs
