New alternator

Hey, I'm not pro with this, have had a couple of decent sounding systems in the past (crap by todays standards), but I'm getting ready to put jl 300/4 on my 4 6.5 kappa's, and I have a jl 500/1 for the sub 12w7. First of all, is the 500/1 enough to push the w7 in a sealed box? second, will I need a new alternator or a farad cap to run both amps? last, should I use some kind of dampening material (i.e> dynamat, etc.)? I listen to all kind of music, definately more rock and techno than rap. Your opinions please.

in any case upgrade big three wires first, (alt to batt + , batt to ground -, batt to chasis - ) then see if you have dimming problems.

500 will be enough for 12w7 unless you want to get it loud loud.

(then sell the 500/1 and get a tantrum 1200.1)

the 500/1 will push a W7 just fine. it wont get as loud as it would with more power, but it would probably be plenty loud compared to what you are used to. the stock alternator will be fine with those two amps, unless it is a piece, but if it has any decnecy, it will be ok.
