new alternator

since i am having a problem selling my jbl 1200.1, i figured i would consider the other possibility...getting a high output alternator. how much do local shops charge to install one of these?? whats the best website to get these at and how many amps should i get...150?? i'll be running a jbl 1200.1, maybe a jbl 80.2 for speakers, and probably an alarm. this is all going into a 99 grand am gt. Also, would this be the only thing i would have to upgrade to make it so this system wouldn't destroy my car?? does adding a high output alternator harm anything in the car??

or maybe just getting my alternator rewound would be a cheaper way to go????

How many amps does your alternator put out?

i havent checked myself but somebody else with the same car said 105 amps....but im not 100% sure that thats correct.

if your looking to go this route than a deep cycle could also be a option you should look at. Another thing is wire your alternator with 4gauge that will not put as much strain on the alternator and you SHOuLD see a difference.
