new alternator or battery

hey i have a 94 integra with a stock alternator. right now, i am running a set of infinity perfect 6.1 components and a hifonics amp (150x2). if i were to get a high-power alternator installed would it make any difference with the sound or quality or ANYTHING?? if not, will i definitely need to get one when i get a 1000 watt amp and a 12 inch IDmax in my car? what affects performance of the audio system more.. high-end alternator or high-end battery? and how so??

my girls honda civic has stock alternator, I gave it a red top bat. the system I put in runs at 2000 W rms. everything runs great. Standard batery worked fine but it was old so I gave it a brand new one went with optima. so as long as your bat is in good shape you should be fine. it won't give any difference in sound quality at all.

ALT provides the power for the electrical system. Dimming.. BIG 3, still dimming, REwind or get an HO Alt.

Battery is basically for starting and playing with the car off..

If all you did was replace the batter to a red top, I highly doubt she has 2000w RMS.

To the original Poster:

If you have dimming and voltage drops in your car, and the amps are starved for power because the alternator cannot keep up with the demand.. You will hear a difference when you do the Big Three or get a bigger alt. Mainly because your giving the amplifiers more power. And unless they have a regulated power supply, more power means more watts.
