You need good sensitivity plus an Fs of well below 100 Hz to get the right "mix". The trade-off is less loudness vs cone area if you still want midbass from these speakers. The mid-woofers I've used and recommend for a lively SQ front stage is CDT HD-6. You can cross these at 80 Hz but on 200W+ per driver you may need to bump that up, and definitely use a 24 db slope.I'm trying to find a good 2 pairs that can do good low end as well because I enjoy midbass as well but enjoy vocals as well. Just want them loud as hell, I know it's a lot but I'd wait for a good set. Flutes have good, but once I get into the 53's, I don't know how well they will hold up.
i head the new HD mids rival the older ES6s. is that true? You need good sensitivity plus an Fs of well below 100 Hz to get the right "mix". Rival in what way? ES-6 has better midbass potential than HD-6, while they're both designed for use with a small tweeter. I wouldn't recommend ES-6 in this case due to the sensitivity being 4 dB lower.i head the new HD mids rival the older ES6s. is that true?

I'd be fine with 100hz. Just would reinforce it in that way. I am trying to stay with a 2 way system without having to do kick panels or anything like that.100hz and up is easy to find loud good midrange. I haven't really seen high efficiency mids that play lower than that. But if 100hz and up is ok with you there alot of good options.

I'd get the PRV if in my budget. These have been recommended to me:PRV Audio 6MR500-NDY-4 6-1/2" Neodymium Midrange Woofer 4 Ohm
They look sweet.
I ended up getting these though :

I very happy with them. Super loud and clear. Has handled power at every level I have thrown at them. Took a shot and it worked out.

Link?I am running two pair of anarchys in a two way active setup and am pretty happy with them, Upper midrange is a little lacking but got lower end crossed at 63hz most of the time and down to 50hz sometimes. Midbass is strong !
Need a higher sensitivity.Anarchy Woofer DIY Sound Group
There are Beasts but need deep doors to fit them in.
