Oz Audio Vector Components - Reviews?

All,

Searching for 6.5" components and I'm not finding any reviews on the Oz Audio Vector components, specifically the OzV-6.5CS.

In the 90's I ran the original Oz 5 1/4" components in the doors of an Accord with their 6.5" mids/Morel tweeters (rear deck) and 12" sub and was always happy with the sound. I went with nostalgia opting for a Zapco ST-X amp as they were always solid performers and although the company has changed the amp I bought is exceeding my expectations. These speakers are part of their "rebirth" with Craig Smith involved in their design and I'm very interested hoping for similar sound quality.

Anyone heard these? I am looking for good mid bass, accurate reproduction and smooth reproduction, i.e. SQ. I can't imagine this are equivalent to the "Superman" series but who knows.

Thoughts?

They are not the same company. They revived the name but not the quality.
Thanks for your reply!

Have you heard them in person or known anyone that's used them?

I'm intrigued as Craig Smith is in charge of R&D and they've been out for almost 2 years now and no one is running them, talking about them and their dealer presence is small. Often these factors would indicate "red flags" but I can't imagine he'd put his name on the brand unless he just doesn't care and did it for the money.

I'm trying to hit a certain price point (cheap) and these are in the range, along with Polk Audio DB/DX which have good reviews for the price.

It's possible I'm expecting too much from the name and need to get out of the past //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

JBL has good cheaper stuff.

I called and spoke with one of their engineers and decided to order a set of their 6.5" components (OzV-6.5CS). You can get them directly from Atrend (distributor) for $99.95 plus shipping which is tough to pass up for a set of new speakers with a retail of $170.

Atrend was out and they're revamping the line. Instead of paying retail I purchased a set of Morel Maximos from Crutchfield for $150. Everything I've read is they're phenomenal for the price.
