whats youre opinion on the the projected difference in sound between the 12 db/octave jl tweet set and the 18 db adire set? i havent heard either of the tweeters, can you give me a little discription of the difference in sound?
sorry if this querstion seeems kinda weird with components i dotn knwo what im talking about..

well neither should be a noticeable difference because of the slope if that's what you mean

the LPG tweeter and the XR sound completely different though

one is a silk the XR is aluminum...

I like the LPG... it's a very neutral tweeter... the XR however is also very nice

what do you mean by good output???

25w = 105+ db .... so 50w for the tweeter and 6.5" total

These will not be meant to be used on the HU.

LPG silk domes (same as in the Adire koda)

The Koda component set came with a Peerless tweeter with 'special padding' to improve performance. I would know because I am selling my set for $225 shipped. Anyways, it's not the LPG silk domes (25nfa?) and LPG drivers sound a LOT different than Peerless ones. Just a lil heads up.

The midbass announcement sounds exciting, maybe I shouldn't have bought those XXX mids = [

I'm interested in the LPG tweeter and maybe the crossover as well. At what freq. do you plan to set the 18db/octave xo?

I have an Alpine 9835 which I use for an active xover, these seem very interesting to try out..as I can adjust xover points and slopes as necessary...and take some of the load off of my tweeter (Which I currently have @2.5kHz HP @24 dB/oct slope).

Actually, 22wpc rms can be found on higher end units like Alpine's CDA-9813/5. However, I don't know if you can configure the onboard xo for 3-way config while using the onboard amp. Maybe that's where the need for xo's come in =D

that sounds like hella power. but ill have 150 per mid and a 24db\oct crossover as well. but my CD2 horns (muahahah) will prolly play all the way down near 1khz. i might play with this to see how it sounds at a higher crossoverpoint. but 2.5khz for a tweet is mighty low ng.

You can count on me buying a set of the drivers. This thread has been subscribed. Very interesting! (I can't just use these in place of my hex drivers can I?) It'll give me a good excuse to start trying to design/build crossovers...

around 3-3.5 khz to keep tweeter power handling high and midrange dispersion great!

sry I thought the koda used the LPG

the LPG is the better tweeter... I happen to have heard both (the Peerless and LPG silk... not LPG alum)
