Fusing at the alt is overkill. As long as you install the wire properly away from heat, the only cause for concern is the battery. If in a collision, the vehicle will shut off (killing the power from the alt) but the battery will still be live. 1 fuse on the bat side and you're safe.oh so i need 2?...one at each end??
