Never knew a system could do this...

There are subs that will get louder than the W7, there are subs that will sound better, but you'll have a hard time finding one that does both better!
None the less that works in a smaller box.I think it's just in your head, and I HIGHLY doubt your combo weighs 100lbs.
Have you ever picked a W7 up? It weighs alot. more than 50lbs. There are alot of subs that get as loud as a W7 at a fraction of the cost. Its leaned more toward sq not spl. Two subs come to mind when compared to the W7.

The first would be Image Dynamics IDMAX v3

http://www.imagedynamicsusa.com/tech_page.php?name=IDMAX12D2%20V.3&type=sub&id=idmax.

Second would be Stereo Integrity Mag http://www.stereointegrity.com/Magnum12.html

Alot of people compare those subs against a W7 and are cheaper. The IDMAX will probably like a smaller sealed box better than the SI Mag.

Weight 18 lbs

On to the cars bit:

My Corolla can't go up hill with a full tank of gas. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif If I put my SX 18 in the back it'd probably top out at 10 mph. I'm not even joking about the gas. If I carry anyone besides myself or have a full tank of gas, or am transporting jugs of water for my fishtank it takes 30 seconds at least to get up above 30 mph. It also shifts from first gear at 15mph, second at 25mph, third at 35mph, fourth at 40mph and it really doesn't go all that much more than that. About 50. I've gotten it to go 60 on occasion.

Ok, after listening to the system a little more, I finally found out what I wanted. I want something that's going to hit me in the chest but have SQ.

The 10W7 at times seems to just be overpowering. I want to be able to keep the volume at a decent volume but still be able to feel the aggressive hit of a sub. I don't know if that comes with power or if it just comes with the setup of things, but that's what I want. The 10W7 blends well with my highs, thats for sure, but when it does blend with my highs well, it doesn't seem to have that aggressive bass. Not stupid loud bass, I don't know how to explain it, do you guys understand? lol

also try using 5/8 birch plywood so the box itself is lighter. i question how much a 10w7 really affects your performance for how much it really matters in a street car. i have a much heavier set up (aa avalanche 15 in a~2.75 cube mdf/fiberglass box in a lighter car (03 celica gt 2400lbs and some change) less powerful car (140hp flywheel) and the difference isnt that much as far as i can tell. i could tell a good size difference when i removed the setup in my sig out my sentra but that car was weak as piss and that setup had to be close to 200lbs at least but that unless you plan on drifting the extra weight in the rear should help give you more traction which is y your back end wont break out and if you are going to boost to 500hp that lil weight shouldn't matter unless you are going to go for a full race car that is gutted ect.

Sorta old topic.But yes, I've picked up more W7's than you'll probably ever see.And you have no idea what you're talking about.I KNOW for a fact they aren't that heavy.Even from the JL site, the 8" weighs 17lbs, 10 - 30lbs, 12 - 45, 13.5 - 52lbs.

Find a comber, better sounding, louder, smaller box, less power, less weight than a w7....and most importantly....cost.You'll NEVER find that because everyones ideas on SQ is different. Some people like the sound of the XXX........personally I think it sounds like shit and *sounds* like it has no balls.I prefer a "fuller" sound.Just like beer and wine...people can argue about x product tasting better than y product. But it's all personal preferrance.Sorry for the grammar, spelling, and run on sentences......nyquil pwns meh.
