so i was bumpin, and my head unit shut off, with subs and amp. car still running, but system completely cut out. about 2 seconds it came back and was fine, but it never happened before. whats the deal??

trying to take it into effect, but, the amp cutting out, its pretty obvious, ground or power. but the head unit went off, and the bass just hit, and then it all went dark. so if its a connection, where would be the first place to check?

ok, that would make sense. let me word this differently. the deck shut off. because the deck shut off, the amp shut off, and the subs shut off, all because the deck went off

well im thinkin some of it is the fact that im running on stock electrical. im looking at knu right now, bout to order some 1 gauge, do 1 gauge power, into a distro block with 4 gauge out, and throw a speaker amp in anyway. plus i didnt do big 3, at all, or even attempted it

pull your headunit out, find the wire that isnt shielded (that grounded out)

shield it.

put HU back in.

well im talking to my installer, hes sayin probably a huge voltage drop, which is what i thought right away. stock electrical, dimming lights. hes sayin add a cap, i hate em, with a passion, but basically sayin even runnin 1 gauge or doin big 3 wont matter if the power isnt there. make sense?
