Needs some help with subs

Also for my amp, me looking at 800rms - 1000rms dual 4ohms too much or just enough/right for my amp?
Let me reword that. lol

My amp is a t5002, and for a sub, I'm looking for a sub that is rated at 800rms-1000rms dual 4ohms. I say that because yes from specs my amp is suppose to be 300rms at 4ohms bridge but I've already blown a few subs that are 400-500rms dual 4ohms like they were nothing and that is me not evening turning it up all the way just 20-25volume on headunit pioneer deh4200 with gain and bass setting low.

I like the xfl and tnt 12s and they are in ur price range also the C2audio Threatcon 2 12 seems to be a good canidate and u can get them for 120 new and around 100bucks on sale.\

Edit* the xfl is prolly ur safest bet to take the power and last within ur price range.

You're definitely not going to regret saving up and spending a bit more on subwoofers. If you can push into the $180-200 range, you're really going to start getting into the drivers that'll perform far better than your basic Type Rs or L7s. Like Jim (mylows10) said, the XFL is a great 3" coil subwoofer that'll take your power well. You can also put more power on it in the future if you decide to upgrade. Ask around, because $200 will buy you a huge variety of subs that'll perform differently, depending on what your goals are for your system.
Yes now, I am thinking of saving some extra cash and going with the xfl1244. I might even get lucky a find some used ones cheap. But as far as goals, I'm not huge into systems and competition. SO overall I'm just looking for a sub that will pound. lol I listen to a lot of rap 80% of the time 20% (alternative, rock, etc..) of everything else.

Ideally before I thought about size, fitment, etc.. I was thinking overall for my car 4 full range speakers like hertz or focal maybe even alpine and running 1 or 2 12" maybe 10" sub (type r, l7, etc..) So yes I don't know much about sql, tuning the box, etc... I'M A STRAIGHT NEWBIE!

alright thanks for the info!

Yeah, I'm learning the hard way. even at the suppose 300rms @ 4ohms bridged its blowing my 400rms-500rms subs like nothing, gone through 4 subs (2 rockfords,2 pioneers and on my 5th sub mtx) now.. and I dont even turn it up all the way.

Make sure ur gains and settings are set right. That sounds weird. Sounds like some clipping and or distortion might be hurting the subs. Just make sure everything is set right.

Any suggestions on other 3" coil subs? lets say around $200 and down. lol I dont even know much about all that 2.5" to 3" coil so yeah I'm clueless.

I think the XFL would be a great choice. It's a very versatile sub that can really hammer the lows, like what appears in rap a lot. I'll be running two of them. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

LOL to be honest I don't even know what settings are right. I just played it safe and turn it up a little so my music is clear and enough bass for me thats it, if that makes sense and they still blow.

Yeah from what you and other members on here suggested and actually starting to look around more, the xfl seems to be the sub I need and plan on getting.

If ur gonna invest in something, you might as well run by somewhere and spend 10-20 dollars on tuning that amp so these problems don't happen in the future after you've spent a great deal of money.

Thanks! Def will be doing that
