Needing some sugguestions on speakers..have rainbows

Ok well right now I have Rainbow SLC 265's. I blew my first set I had, but they were under warranty so I got a new set. Now I just blew the right speaker. I am running them off a Sundown 100.2 with gain set at half way. I dont have the money to spend on rainbow again, and dont feel like dealing with the hassle of sending them out and that stuff. I was wondering what a cheap compotent set would be, or just 2 6.5's. Something that is cheap but still decent.

The gain setting has little to do with it, it's how much power/heat which is sent to the speaker; the gain primarily matches the volume curve of the head unit to the amp for a balance of low noise and maximum power.

What blew, just the mids? Install can have a lot to do with it... generally, power handling will go up on the mids if they are in a smaller box. A door would be considered a very big box or infinite baffle. Also, if the drivers are not sealed well and leak some air, that could be bad.

A higher crossover setting can increase power handling as well.
